Spreading Love And Kindness

Simple Steps in Spreading Love and Kindness to Those Around You

Our world is full of hate, misery, unforgiveness, impatience, selfishness, and so many more negative issues that it can sometimes seem hopeless. The good news is that it does not have to be.

By spreading peace and patience, love, and kindness in our own little corners of the world, we can inspire change. We can make a difference by following these simple steps.

Forgive and Show Mercy

Everyone makes mistakes, and everyone makes bad choices, but constantly making them pay for those choices is no way to show love. Instead, be merciful and forgiving- letting go of the anger and hatred you might feel towards another.

Forgiving does not mean you have to allow people to run over you. However, it is an important step in spreading peace and patience- two things that we all desperately need in our lives.

It costs nothing to smile at others, and it can be absolutely contagious. Make an effort to those you interact with every day and even those you pass on the streets. You never know how far one little smile can go in improving someone’s day.

Give What You Have

Most of us don’t have millions in the bank to give, but that does not mean we have no resources. We have time, energy, and gifts. Some of us have homes full of items we don’t need that someone else can use. Some of us have a few hours on Friday nights that we can use to babysit for an overworked mom or have others over for a home-cooked meal. Giving what you have is one of the most effective ways of spreading love and kindness.

Send a Letter

When was the last time you received a handwritten letter from a friend? It’s probably been a while, thanks to the convenience of technology. It is so simple to send a quick text to someone now that it nearly eradicates the need for any other communication. If you can take a little time out of your week, though, to write a letter to someone, it can make them feel much more valued and loved.

Question: Who do you know that could use some love and kindness today? What can you do to make a difference in their lives today or this week?
